The largest Lady Banks' rose is one that is over 125 years old and can be found in Tombstone, Arizona. It is lovingly referred to as the "Shady Lady". This shows that a well cared for Lady Banks' rose can indeed survive for years together!
Autumn Crocus: Autumn Crocus are larger in size than those that bloom during the spring. They grow very close to the ground and come in colors like white, lavender, and pink. These bulbs should be planted in late spring, as the flowers bloom in late September to October.
If you are pruning an established climber, prune the flowered laterals in the spring. Don't forget to remove any diseased or dead wood. Cut off the sucker growth arising from below the bud union. For the relatively old climbers, some of the oldest wood can be removed at the base, to facilitate new growth.
Those who regularly cut the hybrid tea blossoms, require little pruning. You should prune the plants in early spring. Make sure there are a few leaves on the stem after cutting the roses. Remove all the dead and diseased canes and the stronger canes should be pruned about 12 to 24 inches. You may find this rough on the plant, but it will encourage more growth and better blooms.
