With their bright and attractive colors, flowers add a touch of elegance and beauty to any environment they are placed in. Some of the world's unique flowering plants and flowers are grown in regions which have a variety of biodiversity. These flowers can be found in the temperate and tropical rainforests and also in ecosystems like islands or places of high altitude, mostly deserted and uninhabited by humans. Since most of the species exist in the wild, they can be found in significant numbers. However, most are on their way to extinction. These days, flower shops sell these exotic varieties that can add a tropical and attractive touch to gardens as well as homes. Here are some of the rare flowers, found in the wild but now, also grown in gardens and nurseries.
The cheerful, sunny appearance of the yellow roses brings a smile to many a lip. Yellow roses symbolize unbridled and genuine friendship. Free from inhibitions, the sender of this rose assures that affection comes straight from the core of his heart, sans restrictions. An ideal symbol of true friendship, this rose also expresses joy and delight without any negative intonations. Platonic love is also expressed through these yellow blossoms.
A mild soothing fragrance and bright colors give Hawaiian flowers an aesthetic appeal and is one of the reasons why Hawaii is called a tropical paradise. The official state flower of Hawaii is not the orchid or plumeria, as most of us would assume, but the yellow hibiscus, also known as the pua aloalo.
We are all familiar with the petals. They are often colorful, have papery wings which form the flower's corolla and help attract pollinators to the pollen receptacles. The insects or pollinators get attracted to their color and fragrance, so that the pollinators can carry its sperm-containing pollen and disperse it for fertilization. There are two types of petals, one is dicots, which are flowers with petal parts adding up to 4 or 5 matching multiples. The other is monocots, which are flowers with petal parts adding up in groups of 3. Although petals are not a part of the reproduction process, the pollen produced and spread by the pollinators help the process along.
