My husband lost a sock in the wash tonight. My first thought was gremlins, but that’s so 80’s! This is the new world now, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s only the underpants gnomes starting a new money making scheme.

It seems that on every vacation to Walt Disney World, I end up taking a picture for one of my bloggy friends back home. Last year it was graffiti on a bathroom stall that said “Jersey Girls= da best in ‘08“.

This year, however, on our very first day, our parking row made me thing of someone very special:

Andrea Bocelli Sings To Elmo

My husband has an unhealthy obsession with Elmo. I kid you not.

So, anyway, he pulls up this awesome video of Andrea Bocelli singing Elmo to sleep. I love it! Andrea Bocelli has the most incredible voice, and it’s so cute the way he keeps smiling at Elmo.

When Logos Attack

The Telegraph reports a design flaw in the logo for the Office of Government Commerce. You just have to see it to believe it. But here are some quotes that go along, so handy with that thar logo. All emphasis is mine.

“and it is not inappropriate to an organisation that’s looking to have a firm grip on Government spend.”

For Kids At Heart

I was watching the Disney Channel last night and saw a commercial for… of all things… Villainster.com. I kid you not. It’s a Friendster knock off for Kim Possible villains! Too funny, and entertaining to browse through. Naturally it’s more fun if you enjoy watching Kim Possible, but I think it would be entertaining for just about anyone.

There’s “blogs”, “comments” from fellow villains, bios, and various pics. Most of them are complaining about Kim, but there’s a lot of backbiting going on as well.

You can even sign up and leave comments which might get shown on TV. For that reason I recommend only signing up if you’re young enough to not look silly to have your name and age plastered on the Disney Channel, but you can certainly have fun exploring the site.

Monkee Goat

Flipping through the On Demand selections that we have through Comcast, hubby and I came across a few classics. We sat, side by side, with hubby yelling “Fantasy Island!” and me yelling “The Monkees!”. Back and forth….

So tonight, I saw my first episode of Fantasy Island. Ok, I like it. It’s weird, but entertaining and has a few interesting twists. It also made my mind wander wondering what my fantasy would be.

After the episode was over, hubby decided that he had to see the Monkee mobile… I thought that meant I’d get to see the whole episode, but I was wrong. Still, after about 5 minutes of rewinding and hitting pause, hubby got the picture to pause on the right spot so he could actually see the car.

I, however, did the smart thing and googled it.

Would you believe that there’s an entire page devoted to this car? Probably more actually, but this one was quite interesting. It’s more of a fansite for on the car, than on the Monkees, but it’s all good.

Mmm. BK Iced Mocha

When we got home from work there was a load of mail sitting below the mail slot. So, I dutifully carried it over to the kitchen table and started sorting.

The majority seemed to be coupons and advertisements, so I sat down to go through them. Hm.. Burger King coupons? I flipped it open, and lo and behold, Burger King now has iced mochas. Yummm. I prefer frozen mochas, but since I’m a sipper, they usually end up becoming iced anyway.

So, I continue flipping through the coupons. Yea! My favorite chicken sandwhich has a twofer coupon. I wave the coupon book at hubby and tell him that we should do this Saturday. Hubby says “why not now?”. I say “really?”. We debate whether it’s still open (I say all fast food is open to midnight now) as it’s 10:30pm. I ask if he wants to split the chicken sandwhiches- he says no, he’d rather split the “double stacker” twofer.

I have no idea what a double stacker is, but the picture looks good, so I agree.

We get the two double stackers and my iced mocha home and I plunge the straw in and take a sip. Wow. It’s actually good. See, this is the difference between the McDonald’s iced coffees and Burger King’s iced mocha. McDonald’s gives you this huge cup for really, really cheap. But, it tastes like flavored sugar water. Burger King gives you a decent sized cup (maybe 16oz?), and it’s $2, but it actually tastes like an iced mocha. You taste the coffee. You taste the chocolate. It tastes good. They actually warn you that it contains dairy. It’s a real mocha.

Then we unwrap the double stackers. It still looks good- but guess what it’s made of? Two burger patties, cheese, bacon, and a bun. Oh, it’s good alright. It’s really good. But I don’t think we should be doing that too often if ya know what I’m sayin’. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the bacon tastes sweet. Like it was coated in honey or ketchup before they cooked it. Otherwise, it was excellent.

My final verdict: Yumm! (btw, the pic above isn’t actually the BK iced mocha- but it was as close as I could get).

Is It Christmas Yet?

Just last month I was telling my husband that I wasn’t certain that I wanted to do more Christmas decorating than just setting up the tree. After all, cash is down this year, and with no trip to Disney to look forward to it just takes a lot of the fun out of the season.

Strangely, hubby has more or less convinced me that we should plan a trip to the World even though we really can’t afford it. Suddenly, I feel very Christmassy.

Of course, this was also almost to the day of our first crisp autumn day and there’s nothing like a nice crisp autumn day to make your mind turn to the holidays.

I’m currently sitting at our kitchen table watching How The Grinch Stole Christmas! on DVD (the classic cartoon version), while making sure that the sausage and potatoes on the stove don’t burn, and also typing up this post.

I have plenty more to say, but it’s totally off topic so I’ll save it for another post. And yes, the picture above is me and my husband at our first Christmas in our current house (2005). We went a little overboard.

Amazing, I just got an email from a company in the UK who wants to offer me a job! Wow. They just emailed me, a complete stranger, and said all I have to do is process funds for them.

I know I’ve said this before, but who falls for this? I just had to post it again because reading it gave me a good laugh. Maybe it’s just the proofreader in me, but I really think that if you’re trying to pass as a legitimate company, your grammar and typing should be better than mine.
