Clueless is one of my favorite movies. Amy Heckerling is a stone-cold genius — when the movie first came out, I had to see it three or four times to absorb exactly what she had done and how. I still can’t fathom how the idea even occurred to her! And her ear for Val-speak — she totally nailed it, not a false note.

But see, if we go based on guys, then I'd have to love Legally Blond best because I'm not-so-secretly in love with Luke Wilson, and it's not even a modernized anything! 10 Things was my fave of the modernized movies, but now it's hard for me to watch anything with Heath Ledger in it. I mean, I'm fine once I start, but just THINKING about it tends to bum me out. Is Amy Heckerling the genius of Clueless and 10 Things? Cuz I'd be all over that! Omigosh, 10 Things is one of my ALL time fave movies. And the inaccuracies were intentional, and therefore ads to the charm. ;-) Emma wasn't bad. I'd like to see a "serious" version of it, though. Yes, I realize it's not an accurate portrayal of Shakespeare's classic...but I still loved it.
