Hi Ben! I definitely understand the difficulty in making a user friendly site. It's hard to organize a site well before you know what it'll become!

I'm looking forward to seeing Celebrity Prayer Network 2.0. Please drop by and let me know when it's ready!

Hello,

My name is Ben and I'm the creator of Celebrity Prayer Network. I appreciate your comments about this. This is a great burden to have on your heart, and it's definitely not something that people should be thinking about not being your friend over. God has had the same thing on my heart since I was a kid. That's why I created the site. I've seen the other sites as well. The gossip one is not of use, and the other one is good, but it's very focused. The purpose of CPN is really just to inspire people to pray for celebrities- Christian or not.

Unfortunately I've been going through my own process in life and have neglected the site that God called me to make. I'm not proud of this. But just recently I've began to get somewhat back on track and I'm actually re-doing a lot of things on the site to make them better. The version you saw was the first test version, but I really want to make it better, more user friendly, and more specific yet broad at the same time. What I mean by that is I want to definitely include the Christian celebrities as well as the non-Christian ones. You're right, they both need prayer.

I say all this to say again, thank you for your heart. As I'm re-vamping the site, I'm praying about the vision and the different elements that need too be re-done and added. I'm always open for ideas. If you have any ideas or questions please feel free too e-mail me- stonben@bvu.edu. I hope all goes well with your praying for Celebrities!

You're welcome. :-) And I'm glad- I figure that if we can't figure out how to pray for ourselves, or for communion, then praying for someone else is just as good or better. Right?

*lol* I need to dig out my old DC Talk cds. I've had "Nu Thang" stuck in my head all day. If you check my email from last night, you'll probably understand why (I assume that's why, could be coincidence).

Hm... that Avatar suits you. :-D

Thanks for being so honest, WV. I for one will be tuning in to whatever you have to share here. You know, your post is really a reminder to me to pray, too. I haven't been doing it nearly enough in my life, so this is timely. :)

*lol* Sorry Freddie, the capital letters gave it away.

Everybody needs help, just for different reasons. Third world countries need food to eat, homes to live in, water to drink. Celebs need support to keep them based in reality. Remember the peer pressure of highschool? That ain't nothin' compared to gossip blogs, E!, and their own managers! Can you imagine going in to work every day and having your boss tell you that you're 5 pounds overweight, that zit that sprang up overnight is going to ruin your career, and oh yeah- go get collagen? Ick. No wonder so many turn to drinking and drugs.

You can only campaign for so much at a time, I think that's why many of us focus on only one or two needs at a time. Any more and you'd be hard pressed to do ANYTHING. :-)

That is it, WV, I am not EVER READING YOUR BLOG AGAIN....just kidding!

Did I get you for one second?

I think it is great that you put yourself out there. You can only be you and that is that. If people don't like you for being yourself, then ....(oh, we are going to keep this PG) FORGET THEM!!!

As for the prayer for the celebs, that is cool. I guess they need it to. I personally just have a hard time with the celeb obscession because everyday I see so many people in real problems like no place to say, no food to eat, no prospect for the future. The wild thing is that many of them are innocent victims of someone else. I am talking about many of the people in third world countries that have been exploited by capitalist empires only to drain the resources, then move on leaving the people down and out.

I don't know, I guess everyone's problems are important to them and all deserve help. So, do what you think is best, but don't apologize for who you are and what you believe in.

Have fun!
