Darcie- *lol* That's why I'm on hiatus from the reviews. I still have a movie review outstanding, and T & C have a list of authors that I'll make an exception for. But otherwise? I'm working on my WIP and my TBR pile. :)

Support group? Why yes, we all support each others' reading habits.

Merry- I'm hoping that I'll like Little Women. It seems like one of those books that you can't justify not liking. I'm not so keep on depressing scenes, but I do handle them better in older books.

Yup. In fact, while I love chick lit, the MCs are the main reason I don't like best seller chick lit. It's one of the reasons that I like Christian chick lit- the entire story does not revolve around sex and being a b**ch. There's just something off putting about an MC that you'd rather see get shot down (take that as you will) than succeed.

Colleen- Yup. I liked the story. I liked the bad guys. But the MC and her bff? Pass!

Everyone Worth Knowing was better. I didn't hate the MC much- but I felt the story was lacking.

I keep wanting to read her newer books, because I smell the potential there (oops, maybe that was me.), but I'm just afraid of wasting my money and time yet again.

See? This is why so many people stick to their favorite authors instead of exploring the newly published. They're afraid of wasting their money.

I TOTALLY agree with The Devil Wears Prada comment! Actually, I didn't even really like the book all that much...it was pretty good, but I didn't think it was as fantastic as everyone made it out to be.

Hi Wordvixen,

You will love Little Women, I think I've re-read that one like twice since adulthood.

I haven't read the shopaholic books yet, and I keep meaning to pick them up - but I'm with you on Devil Wears Prada, the writing was fast paced, but I wasn't so much for the mc - I thought it was just me...

I just read one that I ordered on a lark - the writing was brilliant, but I hated, hated the mc. I just didn't like her. I spent half the book wanting to crack her - but the writing was so good that I finished it anyway...

Ohhh do I ever hear ya (CJ close your ears). I have a HUGE pile of TBRs, so many I can't count. Went to the library yesterday and snatched up comparables to read for my proposal's market analysis.

THEN I acquired some novels while at the Colorado Christian Writers Conference and (CJ, please open your ears now) I so want to read Angela Hunt's funeral home books and get my hands on Nancy Rue's Healing Waters. I'm reading Healing Stones. Love them!

Love books! Need therapy!

Is there a support group for book addiction?

btw - I'm gonna be in PA July 2 - 14. You guys hafta come up to the metroplex of Dallas... PA this time. My mom sez we can all crash at her house and eat ourselves nuts - and maybe swim if the pool isn't green. :)

Sam- I've only ever seen the movie version with Winona Rider (Ryder?) in it, and I'm hoping that I'll enjoy the book more than the movie!

Stephen- Thanks for the heads up! I'm half way through my complete read of the Snarchives.

CJ- I think that part is some of why I hated the movie. Hopefully the book is good enough that I can deal with it.

Colleen- Funny, that's what I thought about Devil Wears Prada. I started rooting (routing? Dang, my English has abandoned me today) for the deliciously evil boss. Hated the protag and her best friend both!
