Ok. I give up. I feel like a traitor to my gender but… I just can’t watch Sex and the City.

I just don’t get it. I’ve tried to watch it. Really. Several times I’ve put it on figuring that this time it’ll actually be interesting and I’ll become addicted to it like every other woman I know.

And then 5 minutes later I feel like chewing my arm off to get away. What is the draw of this show? It’s not funny, it’s not dramatic, it’s not deep, and it doesn’t even let you get to “know” cool people. Usually entertaining shows have the appeal of at least one of those.

Except Friends.

Oh. Right. Never mind.

  1. Agreed, it’s somewhat shallow and past it’s prime. Time changed so rapidly. It’s not the gaggle of women anyway. First Chris Noth caught my eye and then the other guy. I admit I wanted to see more of them and less of the other characters.

Wouldn’t mind a spin off with the John Corbett character, played by John Corbett of course.

  2. Sad thing is, I could never watch long enough to actually find out who the other characters were. Though I swear Nathan Lane was in an episode- now he would have been worth watching.

  3. He may have, I did not stick with it. Like you I heard about it for years and tried to make sense of it. We have the bad habit of leaving the TV on most of the day. If something looks real interesting I try to catch it later. Tivo, encore or at another channel.

  4. I always had the TV on whether I was watching it or not. Then hubby got me a laptop and I decided blogs are more fun, and the TV noise distracted me while I was reading. I still have it on anytime I’m not on the computer or reading a book though. Cooking, crafts, that’s when I watch. I wish I had Tivo or something similar. On Demand is nice, but only if you want to see what they supply.
